Why I created this website

How snowy Snowshoe was before Thanksgiving!

I have been enjoying Snowshoe since the late 1970s when it had a round restaurant and no village. There’s just no other place with such excellent skiing and such chilly weather this side of Vermont.

In 1995, something exciting happened. A big resort company called Intrawest bought Snowshoe and began redeveloping Snowshoe. Chief among its innovations was the Village. By the year 2000, when I purchased a condo in the Highland House building, the Village was really taking shape. Since then, with the addition of Allegheny Springs, Expedition Station, and the Seneca, the Village has helped to transform the Snowshoe experience.

This is now a vibrant and exciting place to visit, and while future challenges surely lie ahead, Snowshoe has become a great place to visit for skiing— and for other things.

To help people learn about all the great things that Snowshoe offers and to strive to improve Snowshoe are the two biggest reasons I created this site. Thanks for visiting!
